Text: Rabbi Yitzhak Kaddouri Urges Bush to Free Pollard

Justice4JP Release - September 18, 2005

Rabbi Yitzhak Kaddouri of Jerusalem recently wrote to President George W. Bush urging him to free Jonathan Pollard for the upcoming Jewish High Holidays and assuring him that America would be blessed in return. At 101 years old, Rabbi Kaddouri is known as the World's Chief Kabbalist. He is greatly respected as a seer whose mystic abilities are unsurpassed.

In his letter to the President, Rabbi Kaddouri cites a biblical quote as a reminder to President Bush that releasing Jonathan Pollard is a matter of doing justice, which is what G-d expects of him.

Esther Pollard is scheduled to meet with Rabbi Kaddouri in Jerusalem this week to thank him for his involvement in the mitzvah of Pidyan Shvuyim. The English text of his letter to the President follows below.

The Honorable President George W. Bush
The White House
Washington D.C.

Dear Mr. President:

I wish to extend MY GREETINGS to your Excellency for the forthcoming Jewish New Year and High Holidays.

On this occasion, I make a special appeal to your humanitarian conscience to grant clemency to Jonathan Pollard who has been languishing for 20 years in prison.

May G-d bless America, and "What does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, love mercy, and to walk humbly with your G-d."

Respectfully,
(signed)
Rabbi Yitzhak Kaddouri
