THE RABBINICAL ASSEMBLY

RESOLUTION ON JONATHAN POLLARD

Whereas

Jonathan Pollard has entered his tenth year of incarceration; and

Whereas

President Clinton last year denied a clemency request for Jonathan Pollard; and

Whereas

the Rabbinical Assembly has previously passed resolutions urging clemency for Jonathan Pollard; and

Whereas

unanimity of support for Jonathan Pollard in the Jewish community will send a strong message to the President;

Therefore be it resolved

That the Rabbinical Assembly urge President Clinton to reconsider his denial of clemency for Jonathan Pollard, and to reduce his sentence to time served; and

Be it further resolved that the Rabbinical Assembly urge the United States Parole Commission to grant Jonathan Pollard's parole at the time of his hearing; and

That The Rabbinical Assembly urge all national Jewish organizations to redouble their efforts to obtain clemency for Jonathan Pollard; and

That the Rabbinical Assembly urge any and all national Jewish organizations which have not publicly taken a stand in support of Jonathan Pollard to do so at this time.
