Honorable William Clinton
President of the United States
The White House
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Mr. President:

In November of 1992 our Center, a social service agency in Bergen County, New Jersey, representing 11,000 individuals and a population of one million people, forwarded to you a letter and resolution by its Board of Directors urging that you commute Jonathan Pollard's sentence.

We are deeply disappointed that you elected not to do so.

We again appeal to your sense of fairness and even-handedness in the implementation of justice. We call upon you to act with compassion so basic to the values of our country and follow through on your own words recently stated in a TV interview "My God is the God of second chances." This man has been punished enough. And his punishment is uneven. We urge you to resist the political advice of your advisors and to do what is right and courageous and commute Jonathan Pollard's sentence to time served. The people in this country have proved over and over again that what is ultimately right is also politically right. Please review this matter once again from the perspective of conscience.

Sincerely,

(signed)
David Dubin
