The FALN Clemency and NY Senate Race (2000)

The Jewish community has become increasingly dissatisfied with President Clinton's handling of the Pollard case. His clemency of 16 Puerto Rican FALN terrorists in a blatant move to support his wife's candidacy in the New York senate race has only underscored his indifference to the fate of Jonathan Pollard. This has generated renewed calls not only for Pollard's release, but also for Hillary Clinton to become involved and publicly support such a move.

In light of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's unequivocal declaration that Pollard's sentence is both disproportionate and unjustified by the facts of the case, the ball is squarely back in the Clintons' court.
