US ambassador: Obama needs good reason to release Pollard

The American ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, commented on the possibility of releasing Jonathan Pollard from prison at the Jewish Federations of North America Assembly in Jerusalem.According to the ambassador, unusual circumstances are required for President Obama to get involved in the matter against the judiciary branch's decision. The ambassador said Obama has avoided being involved in these sort of decisions during his term and there is no reason to expect this matter will be handled differently. (Noam Dvir)
