IsraelNN.com - Esther Pollard told Galei Tzahal’s Razi Barkai that informed sources told her Jonathan, her husband, is not on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s agenda. She thereby contradicted statements to Barkai earlier Sunday morning by senior Olmert advisor Dov Weisglass, who stated the government is doing all it can to obtain his release.
Mrs. Pollard told Barkai that today US President George W. Bush is willing to entertain a serious Israeli request regarding Jonathan, but Olmert is unwilling to raise the Pollard issue with the White House. Asked if she has recently visited Jonathan in America, Esther, a resident of Israel, stated she lacks the funds for such a trip, adding she lives in poverty. Mrs. Pollard angrily stated that in the 21 years her husband, an Israeli agent, has been in prison, they have not received a penny of assistance
