Arutz Sheva - - May 9, 2005 / 30 Nisan 5765

Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom today said that "the time has come for Jonathan Pollard to be released from prison and move to Israel." He made the statement one day after lawyers for the jailed American intelligence analyst said they are filing a petition to the High Court that Israel declare Pollard to be a Prisoner of Zion.

Shalom said several Israel officials will be visit Pollard in his cell in the coming weeks. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, after his recent visit to President George W. Bush's Texas ranch, said he had instructed Israeli Danny Ayalon, Israeli ambassador to the United States, to visit Pollard.
