Chanukah Letter To Jonathan from Hesder Yeshiva of Sederot Students

Sederot, Israel - December 15, 2003 B"H

To Our Dearest Jonathan Pollard,

We are the students of the offshoot of the Hesder Yeshiva of Sederot, Israel, "Afikay Daat".

Especially in these days when our ongoing security situation her in Israel is hard, in particular in Sederot, where we are hit time and time again by Katushya missiles, Kassam rockets and mortars, we strive with all our strength to continue to live in our land, Israel, to continue to fight against all those who want to see an end to the existence of Israel as the homeland of the Jewish nation.

Especially in the days of Chanukah, like in those days, also today, there are many who try to disconnect the Jewish people from its torah, from its uniqueness, which has strengthened and continues to strengthen us her in our land and outside in the Diaspora for over 2000 years.

Therefore we are sending to you and to the entire world the message that the spirit of the Jewish people will never be broken, with our continuing faith and trust in Hashem, and that every Jew wherever he may be must be strong in his belief in the correctness of this path, for we are believers, children of believers, that just like in the time of Chanukah, the truth will eventually come out and Hashem will reveal himself to us in public miracles and give over the strong into the hands of the weak, the wicked into the hands of the righteous and the wanton into the diligent students of his torah and all the nations will see and fear.

Especially in these days we will strengthen ourselves with great faith in Hashem, that with his help a savoir will come to Zion, the sons will return to our borders and Moshiach the righteous will come and rebuild the Beit Hamikdash and light the menorah in the yard and then we can all sing praises to Hashem.

To our dear brother Yonatan, many blessings from us to you that we may witness great redemptions in the near future, that you should have good health, and that us in the city of Sederot, even with all our problem, think about you constantly, and hold discussion several times a week and pray for your safe and healthy return speedily in our days, amen.

All the information and willpower to continue our efforts we draw from Harav Hagaon Asher Mivtzari who works continuously and tirelessly to awaken the Jewish people to the issues of your release day and night.

May all your desires be fulfilled for the good, may you merit inner peace and happiness in your life and a happy Chanukah holiday.

With great feeling of love and respect, we look forward to seeing you in the near future, a free man in the land of Israel and for the ingathering of all the exiles and the arrival of the righteous Moshiach speedily our days.

Yours truly with love, the undersigned,

The students of the offshoot of the Hesder Yeshiva of Sederot.
