Source: IMRA - June 20, 2002

IMRA: This resolution, sponsored by MK Michael Kleiner, who heads the Herut delegation to the Zionist Congress, was passed today.

The 34th Zionist Congress:

Explanation:

Jonathan Pollard was convicted for spying for Israel and was sentenced to life imprisonment. The proposed resolution comes to rectify the injustice done to Pollard and raise the issue of prisoner redemption as well as Jewish guarantees to the agenda of the Zionist movements. It is proposed to forward this resolution to Committee Number 7 since the commitment to redeem prisoners and the concern for Jews imprisoned as a result of their service for the State of Israel express the value of Jewish Unity, by saying that every Jew is a guarantor for his brother.
