News: CIA Dropped Israeli Agent After Pollard Affair

Aaron Lerner - Media Release - April 26, 1998

"Intelligence sources which I spoke with this week confirmed the existence of an Israeli agent in the service of the CIA.

"According to them, this agent operated for an extended period of time, and it was not an instance of the transfer of information on a one or two time basis. 'The agent was never caught by Israel,' the American source told us...' He operated at the time that Pollard was caught. After Pollard was caught the CIA rushed to stop his activities. They did not continue to use him. They didn't want the huge diplomatic embarrassment, as was caused by the Pollard affair to Israel.'"
