Peres Responds to President of Students' Union
Jerusalem, 24 Kislev
December 17, 1995
Mr. Asaf Nivnadal
To Asaf, a hearty shalom.
I have received and read your letter to me of 7 December, 1995 and the attached petition concerning Jonathan Pollard.
The Government of Israel has done, and is continuing to do, everything in her power to express to the American Administration our desire to have Jonathan Pollard freed.
The request is grounded in humanitarian considerations, given the inordinate length of his incarceration, and considering the many changes that have taken place in the world since; and without diminishing the seriousness of his offence in the U.S.
Prime Minister and Minister of Defence
